Umshlagplatz— The location where Warsaw ghetto victims were forcibly assembled to be taken by truck and herded on freight train cars then taken to Treblinka to be murdered. It’s designed to feel like an open trains freight car.
Between 5000-7000 persons were sent away from this site daily; this sight contains the Hebrew first names of Jewish men and women who were transported from the Warsaw Ghetto to be murdered in Treblinka. The Motl teens are asked to locate their names on this wall as I did 2 years ago, and recall that thousands of Jews with their same first names never got to enjoy the liberty that they do or to witness, seek refuge or visit the creation of a Jewish homeland….Israel.
