The Supporters of the MOTL have launched a Massachusetts chapter. The Chairman is Irv Kempner of Sharon, long active in the Brotherhood of Temple Israel of Sharon and other communal activities. He is a retired VP from The Gillette Company.
In its first 30 years, Friends of MOTL has brought 4,000 adults on annual Adult MOTL pilgrimages to see first hand the power of March of the Living program as a (and) vital Jewish educational curriculum with its chief mission to install in adults the value (valye) of perpetuating teens’ MOTL Program through their financial support.
Since 1988, MOTL has brought 280,000 teens to Eastern Europe and Israel, teaching 17 – 18 year-olds lessons of the Holocaust and inspiring them to lead the Jewish People into the future vowing ‘Never Again.’” Last April, 14,000 teens from 40 countries participated in our 30th March of the Living and Israel’s 70th birthday celebration.
The New England MOTL chapter will provide scholarships for local teens for upcoming MOTL Teen missions to Poland and Israel. It also aims to recruit a contingent of adults (21+) for the 2019 Friends trip. Both groups depart after Passover and last 14 days.
Thanks to a matching grant from the Kempner Family Foundation, each donation of $1,000 will be matched dollar for dollar to support teen scholarships . The teen MOTLPoland and Israel trip costs are $5,800 per student.
