This is a video of my transformative trip to Poland where we learned more about and visited the School of Dialogue program, met their students and educators, and the incredibly devoted Leaders of Dialogue from Kalisz (my father’s hometown), Radom (my mother’s hometown) , Szczebrzeszyn and Ulanów (Cheryl Fishbein’s mom’s hometown.
We had a chance to meet the alumni of the Polish-Jewish Exchange Program and the pioneering Polish Friends of the Forum. In fact this was the first ever meeting of Polish, American and Australian Friends of the Forum. Above all, however, by being here and participating in this journey, we have contributed to inspiring new connections between contemporary Poland and the Jewish people.
It was these meetings, in Kalisz, Radom, Ulanów, Szczebrzeszyn and everywhere else we visited, that created the core of this trip and defined its character of a hopeful future for Jews in a democratic, increasingly free and open Polish society.
